2021 has been a turbulent year, not only for the Park but for South Africa as a whole. 

With the sudden and very sad passing of Dave Edwards, I took over the position of Park Manager in June this year. 

Several operations have been conducted in and around Kyalami to limit criminal activities and make it a safe area to be.

Over the last year or so, the term “POPIA” has been prominent in the press and even around the braai.

The African Hoopoe is a species of hoopoe in the family Upupidae, a subspecies (Upupa epops africana) of the hoopoe. Its repetitive “hooo-pooo” is sung 5 times or more hence its name.

The Kyalami Park Annual General Meeting took place on the 3rd December 2020 at the Rivers Church and the Board would like to thank them for the use of their facilities.

What a pleasure it has been to have had such lovely rainfall in the past weeks. It has made the gardens look really beautiful.Unfortunately, the grass has grown so much, it has created a real headache for our garden service who have had their time cut out trying to keep the grass short and neat.

The new City of Johannesburg Land Use Scheme, 2018 was published by The City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality (Council) on 2 January 2019 and became operational on 1 February 2019.

As 2019 comes to a close, it is with regret that we say a fond farewell to our retiring Trustee John Andrews who, together with Aylwin Stephenson, have done a sterling job handling the current security portfolio.

Johannesburg Water, the City of Johannesburg’s water utility, is urging residents to adhere to the level-1 water restrictions already in place as a planned shutdown of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project tunnel system continues for inspection and maintenance from 1 October 2019 until 30 November 2019.
